Our Curriculum
Training at the Tailoring Institute
The training program at Vision Pakistan offers a comprehensive education in tailoring and dressmaking, combined with essential life skills
We have a five-pronged program :
- Conduct a high-level training course that produces expert dress technicians/tailors with excellent Pattern making, cutting, and stitching skills for ladies’ fashion wear.
- Provide reading and writing skills in Urdu, numeracy and basic book keeping skills to help them run their business accounts
- Change their mind set by providing training in self-awareness, critical thinking, conflict resolution, gender sensitivity and hygiene.
- Provide two meals a day for better health and energy.
- Provide a basic understanding of Islam to promote peace and harmony.
Semester 1 :
Junior Section (3 months)
- Students complete six modules, each lasting two weeks.
- These modules cover foundational skills in drafting, cutting, and stitching.
- In addition to vocational training, students receive basic literacy in Urdu, math, and bookkeeping.
- Emphasis is placed on personal growth through lessons on self-awareness, hygiene, and conflict resolution.
Senior Section (3.5 months)
- Students undergo eight modules—six lasting two weeks each and two lasting one week each.
- Training becomes more advanced, further developing students' tailoring techniques.
- Students must pass practical and oral exams after each module to progress.
- We also cover personal development topics like time management, critical thinking, and gender sensitivity.
Semester 2 :
Sewing Lab - 5.5 months
- In the second semester, students work in a Sewing Lab, applying the skills they’ve learned in a real-world setting
- The lab handles orders from the public, giving students hands-on experience
- Students learn how to manage customer orders, take measurements, and complete tasks efficiently.
- This practical exposure builds their confidence and prepares them for either employment or launching their businesses.
- During this phase, students refine their skills and take on more complex tailoring tasks.
- They receive continuous mentorship, enhancing their knowledge of advanced garment construction.
- The focus is on mastering techniques, handling sophisticated customer demands, and preparing for graduation.
- By the end of the semester, students are equipped with both technical and entrepreneurial skills, ready to enter the job market or start their own tailoring ventures.
